Dorset School Transport - Travel Passes, Routes & Timetables

Information on the new travel passes,

Update on School Bus Passes (Smart Cards for school contracts)
The cards are now being printed and will be sent direct to your home address by second class post, although some might arrive a few days later than planned.
Update on Scholars Bus Passes (passes to use public bus routes)
The cards will be available from your school on the first day of term. A letter will be sent direct to your home address by 1 September 2016, which will allow you to travel on the first day of term.
If you have any questions about the new process, please contact School Transport.

New plastic passes are being introduced for students using free or paid school transport, instead of the paper passes issued previously. These will be for the life of attendance at your school or college, subject to transport entitlement and so will not need to be re-issued every year.
The plastic passes will contain both a barcode and an electronic chip. The barcodes will be used to carry out periodic checks on the validity of the pass in the short term. Over the next 18 months all school vehicles will be fitted with electronic chip readers that will allow passes to be checked and details of the journeys recorded.
When will passes be sent out?
You should receive your new pass, issued directly to your home address from mid to late August. If you haven't received your pass by Thursday 25 August, please let us know via the School Transport enquiry form.
Routes and timetables
In previous years, we specified the boarding location for school transport services but students can now board and alight the service at a stop best suited for them. The pass will only be valid for the designated route and will not be able to be used on alternative services without authorisation from the School Transport team.
If you have moved since you first applied for a school place you must notify us using the change of address form.
New route maps and timetables for 2016/17
Lost passes
If a bus pass is lost during the academic year you must obtain a temporary pass from your school office in order to continue using school transport until a replacement pass can be issued.
